Francesca Palamidessi is a singer, composer and producer winner of 2015th edition of the International Competition for Singing Musicians Voicingers.
Born in Rome, but with an international formation, Francesca at the age of 26 has developed a very personal and recognizable style both in composing and as a vocalist, which combines elements of serious music (classical music, contemporary jazz and electroacustic music) with a songwriting approach, carving out her own special space in the art world. She is specialized in live processing of vocal sound and improvisation.
Up until now she has published four records as a leader: in other words i am three (2015, Ragtime Production), on the music of Charles Mingus, fluo (with her band ELK, 2016, Saetta Dischi), ready / set / go! (with her band monkey tempura, 2017, Filibusta Records) and finally amber haze, her last and most representative work (2017, Hevhetia).
She has performed all around Europe and in the Emirates with musicians from all over the world, but her work is mostly focused on a personal research on vocality and its possibilities.
Classicaly trained as a pianist and a violinist, studies voice and jazz in Italy and Belgium with important musicians and teachers of the european and american scene (Elisabetta Antonini, Diana Torto, Lynn Cassiers, John Taylor, Lionel Loueke, Frank Vaganeè, Bo Van Der Werf, Dré Pallemaerts, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Theo Bleckmann, Antonio Sanchez, Sheila Jordan, David Kikosky, Danilo Perez, Eric Thielemans, Joey Blake, Franco D’Andrea). She is a graduate in jazz but also in electronic and electroacoustic music composition and sound engineering. Her field of interests also extends to videomaking and experimental theathre.
